Sri Lanka reports eighth COVID-19 death Sri Lanka reports eighth COVID-19 death Written by Hassan Shazuli 04 May, 2020 | 7:34 PM COLOMBO (News1st) : Sri Lanka reported its eighth coronavirus death on Monday, director general of health services Dr. Anil Jasinghe said. The deceased, a 72-year old female and a resident of Polpithigama in Kurunegala, was the 171st patient to test positive for the virus in the country. Dr. Jasinghe noted that the patient had died while receiving treatment at the Homagama Base Hospital. Sri Lanka has reported a total of 721 confirmed coronavirus infections, among which 194 have recovered, official figures show.
